Electronics Help

I need help! When it comes to electronics, I don't know what I'm doing. A power supply I use crapped out, and upon investigation I found the transformer wasn't putting out any juice. The company wants $190 for the entire power supply, but I only need a new transformer, that I've got to believe is $10-$20, or less.

The transformer core (metal block), measures 3 3/16" high (81mm), 3 13/16" long (97mm) and 1 3/4" wide (45mm), and appears to have double wrappings.

There are two primary wires entering at the top, and two secondary wires coming out of the bottom.

The only label was this:

I've searched the model number and "transformer 120V 36V," and can't seem to find the one I need. I have been directed to transformer companys, but they then want me to put in information that I don't understand.

I know we have electronics folks out there.....can anyone help me on this one.

Thanks, Paul

What kind of information is it asking for? Is that AC/AC or AC/DC, or if you don't know what is it feeding?

You need something better than 216 VA though.

Stuff similar to the questions asked by THIS supplier.

I have no idea about output. I just assumed AC since it didn't specifically say DC on the label. This power supply is for an Aquabot pool robot. This is the third one I've purchased, and unfortunately when the other two crapped out, I threw out the power supplies.

I have not idea what this means....I just thought I needed 120V because that is what is on the label, and that is what I plug it into. Did I mention that I don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to electronics. :p

Info you need is:
120V Input power
36V output power
~250 VA power (VA and Watts are the same in this case and you need no less than 216 VA)
You are looking for a laminated core or EI transformer. You are AC to AC.

Try IEI on rt 36 in Hazlet, they sell components. Also addon pools on rt 35 sells aqua bot parts.
