Essential tools in coral fragging...

Hey guys and gals:

If you had to put together a complete essential "tool kit" for coral fragging, what would you include? I'm looking for the short list from the experienced of have to have items for coral fragging.

bone cutters
a set of long tongs
hair cutting scissors (prevents slipping)
exacto knife set
glue and epoxy

Dremel with a diamond cutoff wheel.

Frag disks and plugs.

Time and a plan. If you frag in a hurry or on a whim, you get frags you were not planning on! ;D

The only thing I'd to what Merv said would be frag plugs and/or small stable pieces of rock.

[EDIT] You beat me to it Bill! I really need to read the red warning that pops up BEFORE I decide to post anyway!

I'd lay a wager on that being the glue we're getting in the Buy, Ed. They've gotten it private labeled, is all! For 1/3 their price, no less.

I agree. Best glue I've used. Especially combined with the accelerator.

Bill, what the heck are you cutting with that?  I thought you had softies?  LOL

The only time I break out the dremel and cutoff wheel is fragging my bridsnest.  the skeletal structure is SO hard, that when I snap a frag off using a bone cutter, it shatters the main colony so hard, I get 3-4 extra, sometimes non mountable frags.

Frag disks and plugs are great for mass quantities, I like the look of Liverock personally.

Thanks guys! Keep it coming. I'm going to be putting together a "tool kit" soon. (of course, the dremel I already have in multiples, but I don't know if I'll ever need THAT power! LOL!)

I suggest looking at the PA group buy. With a 15% discount most of these items will be hard to beat retail.

Thanks Saltwater4life, I saw that one too.

And yes, I have no idea if you would ever need the picks.

I have also found MANY people selling individual pieces as well.

The exacto knife kit I already have, but it has been such a multi-use tool in my arsenal, I would probably buy another one just for fragging.

Hmm.. I wonder if those fit a little better. I will have to try those out. Thanks for the link Nick.

The other ones were recomended to me by a friend's wife who grew up on a farm with, ehemm..., cows. Do I need to continue? ;)
