Fallen Torch....HELP

Just sold a guy a Dragon SOUL Torch and as he was heading to the car, dropped it.

So aside from the.....what do you do $ wise....

What about the torch?
Suggestions???


It scraped some tissue away from the one part of the head. Structurally it is sound.

Do I leave as is, trim tissue, or possibly glue tissue near where it came from?

I would put it in a low flow area and monitor it for a bit. A revive dip may not be a bad idea once you see how it’s doing.

So that dangling tissue would not be reattaching anytime soon, so trimmed it based on discussions with others. Still has plenty of inner tissue and 3/4 of the skin around the head rim.
He did decide to leave with me to not further stress it out.
Sooo over the next few days will watch it. Make sure it doesn't jelly up on us

I did save a hammer with similar damage not too long ago. So fingers crossed.

As far as money, said I couldn't just give another or refund. Hinted I could provide something else kinda as a credit.
But tough situation.

That's why you join the NJRC and get a travel frag bag!!!!

It is tough to cal. If no frag bag bring something to carry it back in. It's cold in NJ today too. I have a small styrofoam cooler and a small bucket to carry stuff, plus a frag bag.

I always bring an insulated bag/box with me- you want to be the good guy, but once 'out of the store' you're on your own- just hope the coral survives

I have given away sooo many buckets, bags, containers, coolers, etc. Fish room is just a disaster at the moment.
He drove here specifically for the torch. Has been here a few times, so knows how I am. In this case I woulda probably lent him my cooler if he asked. Never even came up. And I am dealing with an ear infection, so just not myself today.

Just went to check on it. Seems stable so far.

i even gave away my NJRC cooler to one guy. Not for nothing, but I try.
I feel terrible, but along the same lines....I was hesitant to sell the torch to begin with.
Was literally telling hinm to acclimate and take it easy moments before the DROP

There are NJRC coolers? I suppose they are a collector item - would be 'cool' to have one

I would leave it alone. Put it in low flow area and it will heal.
LPs are very strong and they usually recuperate

if you walked out of any reef store I doubt they would give you a refund or a new 300 torch.if he’s the one who dropped id threw him some
Free frags because I felt bad…but he should be the one taking the frag home and rehabing it. Torch’s are 50/50 for me after breaking them..I use super glue.

Gave him a deal too. $160 for the head. Nice stalk.
I think we both knew if he took it for the 30 minute ride, acclimating period, adjustment....it would be a goner.
I hinted I would give him some frags. But couldn't replace or refund.
Just hoping it opens over the next few days and he is able to pickup at that point.

Remember that two head piece I got from you. A piece fell off and I glued it to frag plug. Now I two torches lol
