Feather duster question

I decided to take a rock out with Cyano and hair algae from my DT. The feather duster never closed up and fell out of its tube. I touched the crown but it did nothing. Is this guy dead or alive?

Thanks
Mark

Mark, is the worm itself moving? Ive seen them come out of the tube before and also see them "pop" off their heads.Try just putting it back in the tube and watch to see if it remakes a new head...sorry for the lack of technical terms:p

The body itself did not move. That rock was scrubbed and the tube is gone now.
Also, I put the rock in my sump.

Did it just fall out or did it get pulled out when the tube was scrubbed away? If its the latter I would say its not looking good. If it just came out sometimes, they do leave there tubes. I would position him neart the base of a rock and give him some time. I've read that they can create new tubes relatively quick so that would probably be best.

you killed a featherduster?? Is nothing safe in yr tank?..lol jk *smerking*

LMAO.

uh tony - you are so rude, i mean he is keeping cyano and hair algae alive. Sheesh. LMAO! tony got you good mark!

seriously but back on this topic - i don't have much hope for the worm.
