I've been trying to feed my tank better foods lately. I've recently started feeding little neck clams and live blackworms along with my normal PE mysis and cyclopeeze. Just wondering what everyone is feeding. Anyone making their own food?
I make my own homemade food. Shrimp, flounder, mussels, clams, squid, cyclopeze, scallops, nori sheets, a concentrated plankton, selcon, garlic. Everything goes in a food processor. Once it is broken down you put it in a large zip lock bag flatten it out get all the air out the place it on a flat surface in your freezer once it is frozen you can break small pieces off to feed your tank. It is a lot of work shucking clams and mussels but you have enough food for over a year. The fish and coral love it. Well worth doing.
did the club do this together at a meeting one time? or was it something else DIY. I wasn't here for this, I just seem to remember hearing about it.
Dan The Man was the last to do a group mixing of DIY food…..and it was Eric Borneman’s recipe (maybe with slight modification.)
Ryan, if you're up to it, see if you can get 10 to 12 members who want to get in on making a full batch. I will tell you your house will smell like a fish market.
