Fishing Charter

I'll be in NJ somewhere around April or early May, and I'm looking for a good fishing charter boat that would be able to accommodate 6-12 people. I'm thinking of heading out of either Cape May, brielle or somewhere around there. Any suggestions?

thanks.

Check and see whats running at that time, may be Big Bass in the Bunker schools, inshore at that time. I would not lock in a trip till closer to that time. Plenty of Boats available.

That is his screen name...lol

Now how was I supposed to know that?

Thanks for the advice Whitebird, I just wasn't sure how far in advance you need to book with some of these guys.
What's normally running around that time in NJ?

No Hurry on booking but you can gather info from the Charter Captains. Another good source is the Fishermen soft cover Mag, published out of Point Pleasant NJ, gives you weekly updates on whats running. And post in open water for updates.
Myself, Merve, etc live down here and get real time info. If the Drum are running,
WOW!! impressive fish, seen them 60+lb. If the Bunkers schools are inshore LARGE BASS 20-50+lb are common, roll up on a school, snag a bunker with a weighted treble hook and let it sink back down. Easy.
good Luck

I use Captain Steve Bent out of Margate and Cape May. Out of Cape May, he does stripes and drum, out of Cape May in the summer, he goes tuna and shark. Only thing is, he can only do 6 people, but his other friend whom I know as well (Bob Kill$hi+) also owns a charter that can do 6. Maybe they can both go out together.

Last May, on the Freespirit, we got this in the delaware bay (If you happen to contact him, tell him I sent you and bust his behind since I got sick on the tuna trip, and no one has ever gotten sick on the ear patch he says!)

On the Longport jetty this past december, I got 2 of these:

So, Greg, Flukin' this summer? I started pouring/making/tying bucktails and selling them online. Got green and red and glow too!
