Frag Plug Questions

Howdy,

Two questions regarding fragging & fragplugs:

1) I have frag plugs that frags have died on, and algae grew on the plugs you can see the algae green leftovers - these plugs have been out of water for months, do I need to white vinegar clean them or are all algae spores etc dead?

2) Do you guys typically wet frag plugs before gluing frags on?

I clean off what I can and let it dry.
Never wet the plugs before gluing frags.

I usually rinse than dry with paper towel / towel. Why are you saying never rinse?

Also the old green algae scares me like spores or something are living, should I bleach? or white vinegar?

I always dip my frag plug in water. It helps the glue work better. It also gets the air bubble out of the frag plugs.
I would throw old plugs away. Don’t re use plugs.
Okay, thrown out, I used new ones tonight, was thinking about for future, hate throwing this stuff out. But I guess they're cheap enough

I've heard from some vendors that they always soak their plugs and keep them wet until they're ready to be used. Apparently it retards the algae growth, or so they say. Can't verify that myself.
