Gettin my first epidural cortisone shot tomorrow...any advice?

Prior to surgery, the doc wants to try some cortisone shots in my lower back. Gotta be honest, I dont dig the idea of needles in my spine...just urks the heck out of me. Anyone been there???

I have had numerous epi and lower spine injections. They are never fun but can help sometimes. Hope all goes wel.

Spinal tap…….not fun….but I was in such pain from meningitis and I think they had given me a local before tapping the spine. ……I was sort of out of it.

Best of luck! I hope the magic juice helps with your pain. Look at it this way - it’s got to be better than the surgery.

I wish you luck Brian.For me they are holding the injections off to see how PT goes first (whew) I will know more in a few weeks time.As for you, not sure if they told you about the options you have.You can be put in as an outpatient and put to sleep first...(this was my choice if I did it) or just go in to the office and put a topical on and shoot away into the back.Now the injections they were talkin about giving me were steriods.
