Getting ready for move.... need advice...

Ok so I am almost done with the design of my 90. It is all drilled and just about totally plumbed... basically my question is how should I transport my guys when the time comes. I bought (or was given) some fish store bags but would it just be easier and less stressful to just put them in large buckets of tank water? This way they aren't in that small little bag (my yellow especially is quite large) and the temp won't flux so bad. What does everyone think? Hopefully I set this thing up and everything works ok... I already made one stupid mistake... I was wondering how everyone got there sump under the stand if it was too long (a 20h under a 90g) and then I realized I was an ass and should have put it under from the top when the tank was off. Kinda scarey thought that if the sump breaks or gets really dirty you wouldn't be able to get it out from under the stand. Maybe I should have used a smaller size... regardless I am really looking for advice on the livestock move. Anyone have suggestions? BTW it is only 35-40min away so it isn't a big travel.

I'd go with the 5 gallon buckets. It's less stressful for the fish, and easier for you to carry/move. It also allows you to use some of your current water in the new tank.

I agree with what Marcelo said. Go to Home Depot, get like 5 or 10 of those orange HD buckets and the tops (tops can be found in the paint dept.) Then use those to move everything. (Just wash them out first) They also make great water mixing buckets and stuff.......

"I was wondering how everyone got there sump under the stand if it was too long (a 20h under a 90g)"

We recently put down laminate flooring and we had to move the tank to get the flooring under it. A week later I added a sump to my 90 gal and tried every which way to get that thing in but ended up having to empty the 90 again to get the sump down through the top. Hubby wasn't too happy helping me with that one. ;D

I origionally had a 30 long planned to go under the 75 as a sump. It didn't fit, so I traded it in for a 20 high. That fits fine under the 75 (same footprint as a 90) in an AGA stand. It just too a little wiggling. I didn't want something under there that I couldn't get out, just in case there's a problem.

That being said, I went and built the plumbing so that I can't get it out if I wanted to anyway. The only difference is in a pinch I just need to cut out the plumbing and buy new bulkheads for the rr overflow. Not that big of a deal. (Luckly I haven't had to do it)

Also, I'm glad I went with the 20H. I have the sump/fuge, CO2 tank, reactor, wavemaster, skimmer and light ballasts all under the tank in the stand. It all JUST fits. With a 30 long, there's no way it would have fit.

Thats funny because I tried every way to get the 20h to fit through the sides. I figure worst case scenario is I stop the flow and just smash the tank and find a thinner or shorter one to replace it if need be.
