Hey Everyone....so it seems like my Giant Green palys are melting one by one. What causes this?? Why is it happening?? And what can I do to stop it??

I had the same thing happen with the same palys. Did a dip and water change and they still melted.

I've heard of this problem before. Don't think anyone ever figured out what it was that caused it. Some reported pests, others found none.

I remember one person saying they dipped them in a mixture of 75% tank water and 25% peroxide and that cured them. Other people said they had no luck saving them and their best option was to frag some "healthy" looking ones and put them in another tank.

Good luck Steve. Hope you can save them.

In my experience the palys and zoas would melt because my Alk was very low 4dkh.
Now that its steady at 8dkh they no longer melt.

I would say to either try the 25% peroxide dip or dip it in lugols iodine solution. I have no experience with the peroxide however the lugols iodine has worked great to strengthen/ heal corals.
