Great Adventure Walk for Ronald McDonald House Sunday June 8, 2014

As many of you know when my two and half year old son Josh was born he had some complications at birth and was diagnosed with a brain injury. We ended up spending three months in the hospital. Thankfully he made some great progress in his development over the past 2 and half years.

While Josh was in the hospital we lived at the Ronald McDonald House in New Brunswick. Many people think this place is funded totally by McDonalds but they only give a very small percentage of the money it takes to run the houses. I have been volunteering at RMH since all this happened and currently sit on the Board for the Organization.

With the permission of NJReefers Officers, I invite you all to a walk at Great Adventure for Ronald McDonald House of Long Branch and New Brunswick Sunday June 8, 2014. If we can get 20 people to sign up the price will be $50 per person. Otherwise its $75 per person. All registered walkers gain free early admission & parking to Great Adventure the day of the event! Normally $42 plus $22 for parking.

So basically you pay for a day at Great Adventure support a great cause and get a T-Shirt. Please post any interest or questions here. If enough people show interest I will set up a page for NJReefers. If your unable to attend and would like to donate or sponsor another walker please let me know.

Thanks everyone for reading.

Ed, I know how important Ronald McDonald House is. My best friends lived there for five and a half months while their son was in CHOP. I myself stayed in there room while giving them a spell. I am happy your son is doing well. Unfortunately, my godson died almost ten years to the day of his birth. But, what a joy he was for those ten years. I would love to participate in the walk.

Ed, you are doing a wonderful service to RMH and I commend you for giving back to the organization after having gone through the experience your family did and seeing how important that organization is to many families in need.

I'll check with the wife and see if we're available for this event. It looks like a lot of fun and for a great cause.

It was out pleasure to let you post such a great cause. I won't be able to participating in the walk but would be happy to contribute as a sponsor. Everyone remember to save your pull tabs as the also help fund RMH! Ed I commend you for your participation in such a worthy endeavor.

Great work ed. I'm glad your son is doing much better. His continued success/progress will be in my prayers. When do we need to set this up by?

Ed, As much as I would love to do the walk with everyone it just isnt possible for me since Im in SC now. However, I will make a donation becasue we hold RMH close to our hearts as well. When my son was 10 months old he was hospitalized at Monmouth Medical Center for an unknown illness that was causing a fever and an increase in his white blood cell count. It took nearly a week for them to figure it out and then it was a race against the clock to correct the problem. RMH in Long Branch was incredible. So any time there is an opportunity to donate to RMH or Monmouth Medical Center I am always more than happy to do so. I dont know what we would have done without either of those organizations.

Good luck at the walk!

Hey Ed, I don't see Josh's name in the drop down box. It is asking me to select one of the following names for the donation to be credited to: Jay Yeung, Jennifer Wilkinson, Nate Wilson, Shirly Elbertson.
