Gumdrop chalice browning and dying

Chile has been in the same spot for 6 months. Grew to almost 9-10 inches around. Noticed it started to brown did large water change (55 gallons out of 400 gal total system). Question is leave it be? Break it up and take area with good flesh and dip and pray? Suggestions? I had an acro that was beginning to be affected but it is ok. All other sps are thriving. Water parameters are great (now). Think all might have had an issue (water wasn't running through ca reactor). So what to do...

You can try and dip it, once they start to recede, it is tough to get them to stop. If it is just a patch doing it, I would cut it.

Good advice above. Many chalices are very sensitive to alk swings or changes so I bet that was the case. Hopefully with the dip and things settling in it will recover for you
