Harvesting tropical fish ino New Jersey

Hi

I live in New Jersey and I am new to the hobby. I understand that the gulf stream brings tropical fish up to New Jersey in the fall and that these fish eventually die once the water turns cold. I was wondering if any one knows how to catch tropical fish for their aquarium and where a good spot would be to give it a try in NJ.

Thanks

yea i would do a search on here for the older thread, try the keywords "collecting fish" or something like that. you probably want to have a separate tank for anything you want to collect and keep because they can bring unwanted pests and other stuff into your aquarium.
this website has a lot of info on dive sites near the coast

you'll find tropical fish at most of those sites
