Diatoms finished in new tank, but green algae is abundant. Starving it out now.

On the underside of my rocks, where the light don't shine, I found odd red spots.

I didn't notice them when I set up.
They are not coraline (they are only in shadow).
They are slightly raised.
They don't appear to be worms as they seem firmly attached to the rock.

They're almost like slightly raised stains.

Only net info I can find suggested mushrooms, coraline, or worms.

This rock was purchased very dry and placed in 1.025 water.
End of first week salinity was up to 1.031 (due to residual salts on rock).
Water change back down to 1.025.
Been cycling for a month at 1.025, 78 degrees, with 20% water changes weekly.
No livestock at all.

It has been under an AI Prime, with the lighting schedule I plan to continue to use.
Lights were on as it look nice in the living room and figured I'd get through the diatom stage, which has passed.

So, any clues?
