Hello all I need you help any ideas or recommendations will be helpful.
I have a current sunpod 2x 150
The issue is About a month ago my one light decided to shut off. I went to reef to reptiles and bought a hex arc 14k bulb to replace it. When I got home the light magically was on. I decided to change it anyway however the bulb decides to come on and off at it's choosing. The right bulb and side works perfectly fine however The left side of my tank is really suffering due to the light going off. What can the problem be?? I contactes current they said it's not the ballet. I called reefs to reptiles they say bulb is fine. Any ideas?

Could be a bad switch. It's seems the switches Current uses are terrible. I've had to replace two of them on my two fixtures.

Lousy customer service from the manufacturer if you ask me...

If it's not the ballast, then it's either the switch or perhaps a loose wire to the switch or power.

I'd say take it apart and first check for loose wires on the side that has issues. If you don't find any, try swapping the wiring on the switches and see if you still have the same issue on the same side of the tank.

If the problem flops to the other side, it's a bad switch. If it still happens to the same side, it's likely the ballast.

Good luck. Hope you can figure it out.

thanks switch?

Thanks guys for the quick response! Anyone know where I can get my hands on a switch in NJ? And I'm sorry I sound like a noob however is the switch in the inside by the ballest or are u guys referring to the on switch because there is only one switch for both lights. Also I was looking at the bulb and noticed it slightly lights up almost like a burning out match but never sparks up fullest least it didn't yesterday. Thanks guys again for the help and recommendations

There is only one switch on the side of the fixture and you are right if the switch was bad, both lights would be out. Sounds like it might be a bad connection, damaged wires (from heat) or a bad ballast.
