Help with spray bars

I have built a nice spray bar setup on the bottom of my 180, I went with 3/4" pipe all inside the tank. My question is what size holes should I be drilling in the spray bars and how many. I want to say I read somewhere that the holes should be spaced 1" apart, just dont remember the hole diameter. Also should I drill the holes so that the water is spaying straight out horizontally onto the floor or should I alternate between vertical and horizontal holes
