Hi! My name is Chris and I just joined NJRC forums. I plan on joining as a silver member soon, I just don't have paypal yet. I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself a little.

I'm a 25 year old Veteran from the good ol' US Army and I came back to NJ in 2007. Since then I have gotten into this great hobby of being a reefer and I now have a 125 gallon 6' mixed reef tank and a 29 gallon refugium styled reef Biocube. Both tanks are active and I love every minute that I get spending time enjoying this great hobby. I met a fellow NJRC reefer (magic) Bob at Ocean Gallery II this past weekend and he re-informed me of the NJRC community. I have been thinking about joining for a while now, and also my girlfriend Katie is also interested in joining. We spend some of our time looking at different Reef shops and growing our reefs! We have alot of fun with the hobby. I'm looking forward to meeting some of you someday and looking forward to some good discussion and meeting new friends. I am moving to Flemington soon and upgrading to a 180 gallon RR tank. Moving is going to be difficult but hopefully some of you have some experience and knowledge to help our journey be a little bit easier!
Cheers!
-Christopher

PS: I hear that Mark T is a sump maker. I am looking for a sump that would handle a 180gallon tank. Hopefully as big as the stand can handle.

EDIT* Sorry I think the sump makers name is Rich T. My bad. I am also a member of ReefCentral with the same username.

Welcome to NJRC.
When you need a hand to move or setup your 180, start a post and we'll be there.
Can't you use the 125 as your sump?
Did you mean you plan on becoming a member? The only thing we have in Silver is a sponsor. I think you meant family member.

Ok I def will, Im actually buying the new 180 setup from Kendall "Whatsup by the way!" His new setup is awesome and a 180 would be a great upgrade from my non RR 125. Im looking forward to being at the meetings along with the lady, she really likes this hobby too. About membership... ie silver / gold. Do I need to do this for a membership card? I want to help out but Im not sure what to do from here. Thanks everyone for the welcome with open arms also!
Cheers!

Welcome! This is a great place for information from fellow reefers, everyone takes care of each other.

That's exactly what I'm looking forward to, making new friends that are mature and cool at the same time. Everyone that I have met has been older and very nice. Its hard I'm a 25yr old vet, I'm mature beyond my age and don't really make friends easy now that I'm home from the Army, most people my age aren't worth the time or effort, luckily I got myself a great girl :) Anyways I am interested in frag swaps and things of that nature, and if anyone needs any healthy pulsing Xenia, let me know I'll frag for you as much as you want!

I am mainly into soft corals but I have recently developed a taste for the SPS. I bought my first 2 SPS frags at OGII. A Yellow 2" Digi frag that's growing already (2 1/2 weeks) and a unknown beautiful Darkblue Acro! I don't have a way to post pictures yet at work (when I spent most of my time lurking and posting) I'll try to upload some new pictures this weekend. I haven't been into SPS because I think it really takes the true hobbyist to appreciate the hard corals.

I am willing to buy frags of SPS and LPS and trade once they grow up. I am running T5 lighting so it is still an experiment. I am planning on upgrading and incorporating halides into the mix, hopefully, sooner than later.

If anyone has any frags that they aren't in need of I would gladly give them a good home! I am on a strict budget so I am trying to build my ecosystem and maintain it as healthy as possible. I am more into the health of the fish and corals than the overall looks of it. I want my extended family to be healthy and happy, rather than a showoff tank.

Apparently Chris likes to waste peoples' time.

I've been holding the tank for him since Febuary. He came and looked at it and asked me to hold it for him until he moved into his new apartment sometime in May. I did so without a deposit, even though he offered I said don't worry about it. Today I came across the post on RC where he's looking to buy another 180. Total B.S. move!!

Wow is everyone on NJRC like this? Why would you try to screw over someones image and impression in the community? I didnt think the bell for recess was wrung yet. That is honestly a messed up thing to do, come onto my thread, that I made to introduce myself, and publicly flame me, after I have even given you nothing but respect and said that you where a great guy on this very thread. I really dont understand. I saw it first on RC, and I thought ok, well maybe hes in a bad mood. Then I see it on here after I had already written you a PRIVATE message stating my opinion, respectfully. Honestly why slap somebody in the face for nothing? I never bought anything from anyone and I just finnished moving two nights ago! I contacted you three weeks ago with questions about the tank and you never even responded back! Thats seriously a messed up thing to do to somebody, jump on there thread and flame them for nothing. Well honeslty you waited since february for nothing now. heres the message that I wrote to you privately about a half hour ago, when I sorta understood where you where coming from.

Kendall, I just got into the apartment on Sunday. I Just finnished moving from the old house on monday night. Ive been looking at all different types of options also, theres nothing wrong with it. I am still waiting on the response from my last call which I have not heard back from. I understand where your coming from, but I havent bought anything yet, I just got done moving. I had to leave the 125 tank and stand at the old place because we couldnt move it by ourselves along with an entertainment center.

I am very erratic with things doesnt mean Im not going to pull through, but honestly the only issue with the tank that bothers me is the silicone thing. I was still waiting on the outcome of what you where going to try, and to see if you could make it better. Im sure you understand that there is another opinion in the process too.

Now I just feel weird, why couldnt you have contacted me back before you called it a (edit for language) move, and publicly blasting me? That my friend is a B.S. move, Im not trying to be ignorant or immature but honesltly, contacting me back via phone or email on that issue would have handled it alot better than blasting me publicly.
