hippo tang afraid of nori clip

he is great eats like a horse and is very friendly and out swimming all the time, as soon as i put the nori clip in the tank he runs and hides until it is all eaten and removed. any thought on how to get him to come out and eat it

Try to rubberband the nori to a piece of rock.

Give it time. It will get used to it. Mine did the same thing in the beginning. You could try the rock trick too. I've also seen where people tie a piece of PVC pipe to fishing line and let it hang free in the tank with a piece of nori.

If you have a mag float you can try using that in place of the algae clip

Is that the one you got from me? If so, I fed them a few times a week using a TLF VeggieMag, without a problem.

yes its the one i got from you he just hides from the clip. dont know why lol. otherwise he eats like a pig

Just curious. Is the clip in the tank all the time. My hippo will hide from anything new. My clip is in the tank all the time. I only take it out to add more nori.

You can try leaving it in. Hippo just might need to get used to it.

I leave mine in all the time. I make sure its clean of any pieces at the end of the day.
