How do you 'oil' your fragging tools?

Pulled out my coral cutters today (finally cutting the Gonzo Goldens), and found them a bit rusted.
I know they shouldn't be submerged, but there's always drip, and the post freshwater rinse the last time I used them seems not to have worked well.
Minimal rust, but some in the mechanism as they're hard to use and wont open fully.

I'm obviously not going to use Screw-Loose or WD40, but is there a 'safer' option?
Perhaps dry silicon spray used for metal pull outs?

Any thought or experience appreciated.

I don’t. I’m with @amado , when they finally get to bad, replace. It’s not very often. They last way longer if you can remember to rinse and lay them somewhere they’ll dry quickly. I forget this constantly and they still seem to last.

Actually I don’t oil them. But I will tell you. I was given a set from another reefer. They were completely trashed. I cleaned them up with a Dremel and buffing wheel. And they are as good if not better than original
