How can someone join multiple forums and keep up? I just joined another forum that was promoted here and after joining, I really didn't have anything to post that I couldn't post here. Aren't all forums the same/about the same thing? 80% of the time, you will bump into the same reefer that's a member of another forum that your a member of. I'm registered on multiple forums and have a difficult time to stay active on all of them.

Please post how many forums are you a member of. It can be a Registered or Paid Member.

I'm probably in Mike's category of registered forums. Between IT (Microsoft, Cisco, MCSE's, Security, etc etc), RC, DIY, Parrot related (Eclectus and general), Cars, Gaming, Programming, and between 15-20 aquarium forums.

But, to get to your question... it is IMPOSSIBLE to stay up with it after my newborn came to be. BB (before baby) I used to be pretty active in (reading some posting) 5-10 forums at a time. But, as you said a lot of the information is redundant. For the reefing community I pretty much stick with our community; although, I do casually view and post in RC and TheReefTank. I've pretty much stopped any posting in RC since I feel that they censor way to much. I posted several times about my mantis shrimp, in the mantis shrimp forum, and each time they deleted the thread. I would have taken it better if the content was the same each time, but it was not!

I belong to one other board (Fark) but do not post anywhere near what I post here. This is the only reef related forum I belong to.

From what I've seen here - you have to be a spammer, request to be booted (e.g. quit), or really really tick off the mods. I won't say what other forums - but it doesn't take a whole lot to get booted from some places. ::)
