Well I love reefing and I also love golf. With the weather being so nice this weekend, it was hard to choose which way to go.

So who else is a golf nut here. Post your handicaps.

I am a HC - 17 ... but I only took up golf in Oct 2009 ;D

Never calculated my handicap but last year i shot between 100-110. I wonder if the BOD would be up to a golf event benefiting the club to set up a scholorship program for NJ Marine biology students, or graduate research programs. If there is enough interest I'll pursue it.

well I am a scratch golfer...but then I also manage private golf clubs so you can say I golf more than the average person ;D

the problem with hosting a golf outing as a fund raiser is that the cost of a day of golf would make tickets very expensive, so the return is small. golf outings are great fundraisers for large causes that can attract corporate money like breast cancer, etc.

the avegare public course (that is worth playing)would charge you at least $150 a head for a day of golf with a burger lunch, a private club would be around $300 a ahead! And then you need prizes, tee gifts, etc...very expensive!

having said that, if a group of members wants to get together and get a foursome here at my club, just let me know! it would be my pleasure to have you!

A golf outing is a huge expense. A friend of mine runs one every year to benefit a school for children w/autism. A ticket for a round of golf for their even is 1k and it sells out every year. Just to give you an idea.

Kinckerbocker Country Club in Bergen County. I don;t belong to it, I manage it. I guess you can call me the help! ;D

FOr every outing I sell at $320 per person for a full day with lunch, dinner, golf, booze, etc...the host charges at least twice as much per ticket since not only they have expenses with organizing, promoting, and buying gifts...they also have to come out with money for the cause...not a cheap proposition! And yes they are always full! I think the alure of being able to play at a private club and helping a good cause is very strong! ;D

I golf as well, 90-100 depending on drinking level through out the round.

Hitting a ball with a crooked stick?? ...then running after it? LOL ...not for me. ;D

lol- but wait there's more, you have to pay for the priviledge and get in line to do it.

Wow that is crazy expensive. The few outings I have gone to were between $100-250 to play with lunch. They are usually at courses that are open for the general public.
I might have to see if i can come play by you one day. Im right in Bergen County.

Golf. I used to have time to golf. Then kids came. Hmm. Haven't golfed in about 7 years! Some day we'll get back to it. I'm just sure!
