Fun day off. I go check on the fish tank today. I see a small leak near the main pump. I look a bit closer and see oil coming out of the pump. I'm like great. Need a new pump. I disconnect the pump for about 3 mins. I look down and I see water on the floor. Crazy there was a pipe in the one frag tank that was about 18 inches into the water. Well you can't do that with out power on the pump the water went back into the lower tank then onto the floor. And all over the sheet rock and carpet in the basement. I just now got the pump reconnected and all the water cleaned.

I call around and found a place to get a new pump. Champion Lighting. I drive out the Ambler PA to get the pump. On the way home it starts raining like crazy. I think the JO in front of me is going to pull out on 130. Well he doesn't go but I do. I smacked him pretty hard. But he took off, I guess he didn't want to deal with the cops. Just a bit of damage on Jen's truck. Hopefully it will not cost to much to fix. First time in my life I got into an accident and it was my fault. Guess I better start paying attention. What a crazy day.

**** that sucks! On the bright side, at least you won't have to worry about insurance rates going up because the other guy took off after the accident. I hope the tank is doing better now with a new pump. I bought a pump from O.G. , and it is good I plumbed my system the way I did, that pump bad to be dialed WAY back. I'm, pretty sure it can pump water 60 miles from the shore into my tank. ;D

Wow Ed! That is a crazy day. This story makes me very happy that I agreed to buy a used pump as a backup to my return pump... it may avoid a situation like this. ;)

Hope everything worked out and there aren't too many things to fix after the leak.

Oh, and I'd agree you got lucky on the car crash deal. Since it was your fault, it could have turned out to be a very expensive day for you if they stuck around for your insurance info.
