I hate my roof!!!

Synopsis:

Purchased house October 2005
New roof placed prior to purchase
1st major leak: October 2005
Roofers "re-do" roof
2nd major leak: March 2006
Roofers "re-do" roof
3rd major leak: September 2006
Roofers "figure out problem"
Multiple major storms September 2006-present: NO LEAKS
4th major leak: Last Night

Anyone here recommend a roofer in Philadelphia?

What the hell could be the problem?

My kitchen ceiling is ruined and will need to be replaced.

Would ripping the ceiling out help identify the problem?

This sucks.

Sorry to hear about your roof. Theres no attic above the room? You need to have full access to the rafters. The roof can be leakink 10 feet away from your wet ceiling. I would take out a small enough piece of sheetrock so you can get your head and a flashlight up there. If the leak is on the first floor and you have a room above the leak, check the caulking around all the windows. If your screens or storms are closed, open them a quarter of an inch. Weep holes always clog fast in this weather. Good luck

Thanks mike

No attic above this section. It an old Philadelphia row home with a nearly flat roof. The leaking portion is the lower of the 2 sections.

The roofers put a Firestone rubber roof on (twice) and eventually found that the collection box from the upper section wasnt properly fashioned and the water from the top roof was draining into the collection box, but much of it ended up going behind the collection box and into the wall...then down into my kitchen.

So they placed a new collection box to now divert ALL the water from the upper roof to the ground.

I am thinking somehow that has failed and now the water is again getting in to the wall. In other words, this collection box isnt cutting it.

The sheetrock in the kitched is ruined. Last time the roofers were up there and replacing the roof they said the subroof looked OK and didnt need to be replaced. So I am hoping that when I tear down this sheetrock Im not going to find rotting beams holding up my roof.

I dont know what to do. I need to get someone here to fix the roof once and for all AND fix my kitchen ceiling.
