I ordered fish from Petco. WhaaaaaaaaT?

I ordered fish from Petco Online.
Yes. I did it. I am ashamed. It's a lot of fish. I had 60 Dollars in PetcoPals Rewards, Free Shipping and a bunch of GiftCards from family and friends. I will take pics and let everyone know how it goes. So far the ordering process was fine. The order is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. So I drained and filled my qurantine tank with a new batch of saltwater. At these prices.. I couldn't resist. You can yell at me now.

Just wondering though, why did you get all female anthias? (Or, do you already have a male?) Usually it's better to have 1 male in the bunch.

Female Anthias.... - Well... They wanted 22/27 for a single male. Since I know males can be iffy.... I didnt want to take a chance on a wife beater of a male coming in and messing up my harem. I figured that one of the 3 females will go male. Until then I don't think that they 3 girls will be a problem

When I was going with anthias, I was told to get of trio of females and allow them to establish themselves. The males can be tricky, especially when shipping.

Does everyone realize that quality marine and a&m are petcos suppliers? Getting a fish online from petco is the same as getting it from the suppliers because that's where it comes from

I believe his point is that the supplier is the same. I think it depends on the petco you go to, like any LFS it depends on who is running the show.

Drips have started.. yes I did read the lowes circular....


There was no heat pack in the boxes. Water Temperature was a 74 degrees.

The Ammonia and Nitrates were ~OK. I would want them to be lower. From water testing i detected 2 distinctly different holding systems

The Powder Blue and the Powder Brown were both in holding tanks running a very low salinity. Around 1.015. The Midas Blenny was also around that level. The Anthias, Flame and Wrasse were in waters around 1.020.

ALL water showed trace elements of Copper. Around 0.03ppm for the tangs and 0.02 for the Flame/Blenny/Wrasse/Anthias. Phosphates were high as was expected.

I'm going to drip for around 1.5 Hours and then add them to my Qurantine Tank. I'm using seachem's STABILITY as my instant water purifier. I'm also running carbon and purigen on the tank.

Seriously though, the fish in the pics look pretty good to me. Did you take any of the tangs (besides the one in the bag)?
