Do you have corals in the tank? You can take out all corals and CUC and go hypo. That is all about you can do in DT.

I jacked up the heat and used Ruby-Reef Kick Ich. It is reef safe however I have read mixed opinions on it. Some say it works perfect some say it is a waste of money. I know that when I slowly turned the heat up to 85 and used it I don't have ich.

If you are looking for an in tank treatment, go to AO or AF and buy the Dr. Gs medicated food for ich. I don't know if it will work, but it is an option.

I thought it would speed up the life cycle... I guess the kick ich worked.

LOL. No sir ich will not disappear in hours after you dosed Kick Ich. If you really have ich then it will go through its cycle.
It takes 4 - 6 weeks for it to cycle. The cycle continues if you have host (read fish).

Honestly there is so much info on marine ICH on the web.

Start with this.

I know it didn't get rid o it in hours. I did what the bottle said and over the course of the next 2 weeks dosed as recommended and it was gone.

I thought you had ich 5 hours ago? Maybe I misunderstood.

In any case, how are you judging that it is gone? No more white spots? No more scratching I guess?

That only means that the fish have developed immunity towards it. However ich is there. The only sure way to kill ich is copper and/or hypo.

I have since added fish that were QT'd and they have not shown any signs of infection.

MatteZ, ICH is only visible in one of the stages in its life cycle, the cystic stage.
When did you have the ich in your tank last?

Edwin, can you pull the fish and QT them? If you can't pull the fish, can you pull the coral and then run hypo and UV?

I might have to try and pull out the coral and put them in my 10 gallon setup... i guess how long do i run UV and hypo. and more importantly what will hypo do to my Sebae Anemone?

Thanks for all the responses so far

I very much doubt the sebae would survive hypo. If you can pull the rock he is on, that is what I would do.

I would run hypo and a UV for 10 - 12 weeks. You will also need to remove your inverts. If you had the room, I would say buy a used tank, and set up a QT system, that would always be my first choice.

Sunny, care to chime in here? Edwin, Sunny did the reverse, removed his fish and QTed them in spare tanks in his basement while his DT was fallow.

the tang has been in the tank for at least 5 weeks and all the other fishes are older than that

Sorry Mat. I was thinking you are the OP. :p. That is why I was confused about 5 hours :) :D

I noticed my purple tang in my DT now has ICH, I also noticed my labouti wrasse female ( new addition) also has some white spots on it. One of my Jocs is scratching on a rock but no visible signs of ich. I am not sure what to do. I might have to do what Sunny did. I have high end fish. I can't imagine loosing them to an ich outbreak. I can't take my coral out since I do not have proper lighting on my QT tanks. IMO I will have to go down the road of taking fish out.

The purple is not really symptomatic. It is eating. However, the ich is spreading on it. It is by no means covered in ich
The other options are I take the purple out and Qt it alone. I don't know I really don't see this helping.
This does nothing for ich that is in my tank

Needs some advice here. I am not looking forward to run fallow. But I see no other choice here .
If anyone is willing to loan me a tank. 75 or larger. I would greatly appreciate it.
