ID?! Yellow sponge? palys?

I have this yellow like sponge deep in one rock and these paly like things growing all over in various sizes. Anyone know what they are or whether they are good or bad?

I have these two and many other new life growing in my tank now that it is no longer in the new stages.

Sponges aren't bad.

The things in the second picture are aptasia anemones. Remove them as quickly as possible before they reach plague proportions.

Most folks will inject them with either kalk paste or Joe's Juice to get rid of them.

I concur, fisrt pic is a sponge not a bad thing at all. The second pic is an Aiptasia, remove them with joes juice or kalk paste before they take over your tank

Darn...they seem like they are all over already. What caused them to form and how can I keep them from forming in the future? I just purchased a bottle of Joe's Juice.

What's the name of the sponge, so that I can read up on it?

Thanks guys.

May sound dumb but when I read this I was like - I don't see the mantis in the tank - what am I missing here...???

:)

I found a couple more laying around, that I'm about to go juice up. That stuff works. I also picked up a peppermint shrimp.
