If I had a dollar

If I had a dollar for every fish that has dead since starting this hobby I'd be a rich man. Don't know what the heck is going on system is running top notch crazy coral. Current tank mates include. Two clowns , fire fish , purple fish fire , mandarin goby , pink line shrimp goby, two lawnmower blennys "one in sump" ,4 dusky jawfish, sand sifter goby, royal gramma , scooter blenny. Not even able to count the snails and crabs 300 or so I guess ? Anyway last week blue spot jawfish crapped out after a month, along with a spotted mandarin goby , just bought a coris wrasse and he lasted about 12 hours AWSOME! Rest of the fish are all healthy so what's the deal. And I. Sure their are a lot of you out there with ten time the loss I've had ,just gets aggravating

The Blue Spotted Jawfish and the Mandarin Goby are two hard fish to keep. The Blue Spot is actually a cooler water fish and even though some keep it successfully in a warm reef tank it does do better in the low 70s. Mandarins need a good amount of pods to survive. If you keep it with other fish that are pod eaters it may be too much competition. You may also have gotten a weak one to begin with. I see a lot of them half way to starvation in the stores and they are tough to get to recover.
As far as the Coris sometimes things just happen. We don't know what that fish has been through in the last week or so. To be safe, check the salinity of the water in the bag compared to your own. There are a few shops around that keep very low salinity levels to combat disease. You need to acclimate these fish over a longer period of time.

My thoughts were the mandarin ate himself to death since he was fat to begin with and my sump is jammed with pods.
