I'm hating Neptune apex right now

Anyone else have an apex classic, that stops connecting if power goes out? I hate the fact that i have to take it out of line, connect the uunit to my router, then update firmware. then rewire it again, run the wireless adapter, and hope it works ......is itnworth it to upgrade to the apex EL just for this ? i should have jumped on the black Friday deals. smh.

All i do with mine is restart the system when the power goes out. If you go into network setup and hit the restart after a power outage it goes right back online.

Ekoral looks like a nice unit. If I didnt have a vertex cerebra coming when they finish version 2. I would pick one up for my frag tank build.

I have to say I Am also unhappy with Neptune right now. I have a lot of Neptune products and I have to say. Some are really bad and some are life changing.

I had two AFS go bad with in weeks. The one I have now works great.

My salinity probe has never worked well.

I have two wav pumps and I was so happy to only have one cable. One cable is great until that cable brakes. The plastic clip on the cable is cheap and broke off. I called apex and they said there is nothing they can do. The wav pumps can’t be serviced. It’s all one piece so I had to spend another $200 on a new one.

The DOS is amazing auto water change is worth the 1,000 I paid for the apex.

The ATK works some times. Sometimes it turns it self off in the dashboard. Having your ATO off is Dangerous.

Alexa integration is great feature but they have to make it easier

I picked up the Apex EL on Ebay with one of the random coupons that they keep putting out.
Just research the sellers, some are official neptune dealers so buy from them only.

I used the 20% off coupon


When I had my classic, all I had to do was cycle the power to reconnect.

so I figured out that I need to do this :

reboot router upstairs
reboot wifi adapter that apex is hooked up to
once those reboot, restart apex
turn off DHCP then switch back on
wait about 5-10 mins, then check fusion


let's see if these steps work the next time it happens hahahaha!!

Oh yeah its awesome I changed 2 gallons a day. I mix 17 gallons and it last me about 8 days.

Yes I do. I change 2 gallons every night.
On a 125 gallon. At the end of the week dos has changed 14 gallons. Once a month I do a 20 gallon water change over night lol

The next step is someone will invent a better way to mix salt. Some sort of tablet that I can throw into the container. Like tide pods for washing clothes something like that.
