lol.. i know that this is simply out of topic since this is a reef forum.

i was feeding my coffee table today where i have my two parrot fish (yes yes.. fresh water!!!), and i found eggs. I've had these two for about 1 1/2 years in this 15G coffee tank and about 3 months ago decided to add a few rocks... little did i know that they were going to lay eggs.... wow.. (i was wondering why they had been very aggresive lately) I'm not sure about the sex of both, i mean which is male or female. They are the only one's in the tank since they basically killed anyone else added.

If anyone has any advise one rearing these eggs or what to watch for, i really appreciate it even if it's just an idea!~ This is the first day that i noticed the eggs were there.

Congratulations on the eggs. Unfortunately I don't have any advise on rearing them. Coffee table tank sounds like an excellent place for clams. I'm surprised your brother hasn't converted you yet! I'd love to see pics of it.

Hopefully one of the freshies on the board can give you some good instruction on the rearing!

unfortunately, from what i just found out, parrot fish are man made and unfortunately not fertile  :-\
oh well, i guess i just got excited...

Phyl, I have 90G Saltwater tank.  It's not like my brothers but it's okay... Still has a lot of work to be done but i move so often that i'd prefer to keep it as is.
