...on the exterminator who helped me rid our house of a few carpenter ants. Stupid carpenters...they somehow found a hole underneath our siding and were running up/down the plumbing pipes. At first he thought there might have been a colony in our laundry room (this is where I eventually hope to set up the Auto-top off tank etc. But it appears to have just been a small entryway where the ants were coming thru to/from their colony outside.
I should have taken some pictures of the aftermath...there were like a dozen big carpenters in the backyard staggering about drunk-like. Neurotoxins are pretty neat. I was very careful to make sure no aquarium items or tanks were open while this "dusting" was happening. He said the dust was relatively harmless in this quantity to humans but absolutely deadly to insects and aquatic animals.
Oh I also found out my backyard fence is covered in poison ivy! Ah - the ignorance of being a city-guy...
