Is a 24" SOLARIS too small for a 36"Lx18"Wx25"H Tank?

Looking for advise form some people who know lighting.. Do you thing a SOLARIS 24" model would be enough for this tank? Is the SOLARIS worth it? Or, should I just get a MH?

I have the SOLARIS and I find that it is very direct so I would think that would be too small for a tank that long. I am happy with mine because I like the flexability but you have to be careful with SPS.
