Tough to say without pictures. I well maintned tank made by a reputable company, that was filled for its lifetime would probably be fine. It it is banged up, scratched, or sat in garage for 5 years, I would be more hesitant.
I have purchased a lot of used stuff. My general rule of thumb for a good deal on a used reef ready tank is a dollar a gallon. So I would say 200 is a little high unless in excellent condition
Nice size tank. My advise is to go in, and be ready to walk away if it's not what you expected, if you see scratches, if you see damaged seals. Unless they ask you to pay ahead of time or something.
Does it fit the space you have? Does it have enough room underneath for a reasonably sized sump with headroom? Has the stand had water damage? The problem I had with used aquariums of that size was finding one with a reasonably high or well made stand. Too many of them are too short and difficult to work in. Of course higher stands make it harder to work in the tank as well.
As an aside, I can't think of a tank sold with more than a 3 year warrantee. And those with 3 were custom made with euro bracing. Waterbox is a 1 year warrantee. If it leaks, you are out the entire amount.
Real nice dimension. I know I am on the wrong side of the argument because I have heard people say stay away from older tanks because it’s just a matter of time before it leaks but if you love it and it is not scratched resealing tanks is not difficult I have done it more than once without a problem. But I still think it is a little expensive. For its age
Here is the stand, needs some work.
I don't get how it was used with builtin overflows as the top is not cut out for it.
Waiting on answer to scratches.
I bet he is isn't the original owner of the tank. Also from that pic - it looks like it only has a single overflow as the eggcrate appears to touch front to back. I dunno ...might be a good reptile tank?
