Only my son would see a box turtle trying to cross 195 on the way home from Ice Cap today. Good thing as it would have surely been hit. Unfortunately, it's pretty sick with what appears to be an eye infection and respitory problem. So will be nusring it until it is healthy enough to be relaesed.

This state is really ridiculous. I couldn't find anyone local that would take the turtle as it seemed completely blind a few days ago. Every place I called refused and referred me to some where far South or North. No one local can take because you need a special state permit just for rehabilitation. Talk about being frustrated. Yesterday a break through; some white mucus/puss stuff was coming out of one eye. My son was able to squeeze a bunch out, some website he frequents recommnded; really gross. Been soaking it in warm water and it keeps oozing puss into the water. Hoping I can release it soon as I will be out of state on vacation for 2 weeks.
