Tank has been ordered.. build will commence sometime next week!

I'm glad to say that I am officially back with a display build and hopefully this one last for a while. Although small, i will love it like it were a 300 Gallon tank. lol

Planned Equipment List.

Deep Blue 30 Gallon Rimless RR Frag Tank
Kessil A360WE
Coral Box D300 Skimmer (This is not final yet though)
Neptune Full Apex Controller
2 x WP25 on a JBWave Controller

I hopefully can get this cycling by 2nd week of october. Till the tank is ready, I have my old 40b giving me my reef fix and holding the stuff i splurge on at the swap!!!

Two Wp-25s will be WAAYYY crazy overkill for that tank lol. Try two Rw-4s instead. They are about the same as the wp-10s. 100-1000gph flow rates. Or, try a combo of like a rw-4 and a rw-8. The rw-8 is slightly weaker then the wp25, but not by much. With two wp25s, you're talking anywhere from 2000-4000 gph of flow rate. That's a fairly insanely high amount of flow lol. Might even be a little too much for some SPS (Though most would probably do okay still)

The Rw models are a Jebao product as well by the way :)

lol, yes on the stock controller the WP25s would be waaay overkill but with the JBWave controller I can control each pump from 10%-100% of its maximum gph. If i could, i would probably get two mp10s but since i already have the wp25s i'll stick with them. if two is too much, i'll just go with the one or bite the bullet and grab the wp10s.

I've also went with a Seaside Aquatics ES5 Skimmer, found a really good deal on one.

Okay lol. The Rw-4s are slightly cheaper then the wp-10s and come with all the same options (Both Jebao products). They also come with the controller that can run Master/Slave with independent controls for them if you want.

Just a fyi in case the Wp-25s turn out to be too much :p. Any pics yet?

I was actually looking at the RW4s but they are much more expensive compared to the wp10s on fish street. unless you know of where you can get them cheaper? no pics yet, picking up tank this wednesday! should have pictures by then. lol

Sorry for the lack of updates on this.. I've just been really busy lately and cant find a day to just dedicate to plumbing this set up.

I did finish baffling up the sump which is one step closer.

anywho... here is a pic of my current 40b that's been holding me down till i set this one up.

sorry for the picture quality, this was taken with my phone.

I have the same frag tank. If i can't find a buyer then I might darn well keep it and find some way to plumb it into my new 60 gallon LPS Wrasse only reef.

did you post it on MR? it'll sell quickly there.

I will have to give that a try.. I wanted to know.. whats the appeal of the shallower tank? In my tank though I tried to make it a display I couldn't get a scape that I liked. I easilly breached the water line with my rock with annoyed me greatly. Whats your plan for the scape?

I just have a thing for shallower tanks. the 30 isnt my preferred dimensions. if it were available, i would get a 36x30x16 but do to my current living situation its not practical for me to start on build larger than this.

as far as the aquascape, when i ordered the rock from Reef Cleaners, i ask John if he can send me mostly smaller-medium rocks. As always, John delivered and the biggest rock i received was just put in i guess, just incase. I plan on hooking that up with my trusted hammer if i see fit. lol the scape isnt going to be rock heavy at all, i plan on making this tank SPS heavy and will just trust in the sps to natural fill in the blanks. I ordered 2 boxes of MarinePure bio media to put in the sump to take care of surface area for the lack of rocks in the display. I think i ordered too much of that too. lol

believe it or not, i haven't started a single thing on this build. lol

Someone said to me "You have a lot of patience" .. it's really more like I have very limited time. haha
Also had the pleasure of being scammed by "livingcorals" on MR/RC.. DO NOT TRUST THE GUY/GIRL. glad i paid the paypal fees.

Will definitely try to get this going this weekend.

now for some suggestions.

I'm planning on adding T5s to my Kessil 360W.. I'm currently debating on how many T5s I should add.

2 or 4?

I will be using IceCap 660 ballast with Geisemann reflectors.

I plan on using ATI Blue +/Actinic + bulbs

will 4 be overkill?

I plan on keeping mostly SPS.

I think it's more about t5 supplement LED or the other way around. I would get 4 for 24'' tank

I'm hearing that a lot too, haha it really is a tough decision. i'm just worried that 4 bulbs with a canon of an LED like the kessil that it would be too much light. but i've also heard the saying that you can never have too much light. lol
