The January 2018 Meeting will be hosted by Badfish

2980 Country Lane Hammonton, NJ 08037 My road is a dirt road the is a buisness that sits on Weymouth rd. which my road is off of it's called Macrie Brothers sometimes the gps puts you there I am behind it. I sit 450 ft. off Weymouth Rd.

Bio:

I originally got into the hobby in the early 90's with freshwater tanks and brackish. I graduated to African cichlids in the mid 90's and started my first saltwater tank in 1998 with a 75 gallon fowlr tank. I have owned many tanks over the years and my foray back into saltwater started about 12 years ago visiting Aqua Oceans in Toms River and buying a 29 gallon biocube. Then is was onto Sunny's 150 RR tank and then my last tank which was a 180 bowfront RR tank. Due to changes in my life over the years I have had to break down numerous tanks, I currently have an empty 60 gallon cube that I have been slowly gathering the equipment to start up again. I love this hobby/lifestyle with all the frustrations it still brings great joy. For the meeting I will put out cold cut platter with various hor d'oeuvre's, byob and whatever food you care to bring. I have plenty of parking if this was the summer I'd have a bbq. Hope to see a lot of you turn out. Thanks, Jeff

P.S.
I have been a member of the club since 2010 when I was known as Boogieman

Hi Badfish (Jeff),

Just wanted to introduce myself - I'm John. I also live in Hammonton, I put myself down as a Maybe but am pretty sure I can make it. Would really like to meet a few other club members. I've been in the hobby for about 15 years, but admittedly not been very active in the clubs (just trolling this site and Reef Central). I've just retired so now I'm hoping to be able to devote more time to the hobby. I have a 75 gallon setup with fish and soft corals. I just started an update to a new 75 gallon, mostly to update equipment, reduce maintenance and incorporate lessons learned from things I did wrong with my current tank. I've built a new stand, sump stand, sump and bought some new equipment during the Xmas season sales (skimmer, controllers, ATO, heaters, etc.). Progress is still slow since it's contingent on doing some concurrent projects in the house, namely replacing the carpeted floors with hardwood. Hopefully I can glean a few tips from you and others that would help me with my new upgrade. Anyway, looking forward to meeting you and others at the meeting.

John

Ok so some of you know I do not have my new tank up and running yet. I know at some of our meetings people do bring livestock and either keep it in a cooler or float it in the host tank/sump sometimes. What do you guys need from me? If we need a floater tank I could set up my old cube with a heater just for this purpose. Let me know Thanks

If we're doing a coral auction/trade the cube with the heater would be a good thing. No need for RODI in it, the frags should be well sealed (or they can be clipped to the edge of the tank.
Guess the big question is - are we doing an auction? If so, do we have a vendor and picker-upper?

I do not know honestly. Who usually handles that?
