Jersey Riders!

Does anyone know if a side mount vertical license plate is legal in Jersey? Thinking of chopping up the rear fender and mounting the plate to the side vertically with a light of course, anyone know?

thanks
Merv

i got pulled over almost every day with it vertical. the statue number 39:3:33 says automobiles have to have 2 license plates mounted in a horizontal position, no lower than etc etc......a motorcycle has to have "1 plate mounted to the rear of the motorcycle" so I won in court 2 times but its not worth being pulled over all day long. I cut the plate off the pracket i had it on, turned it horizontal and welded it back on. It is on the left side of the bike now mounted by the axle in a horizontal position and I have not been pulled over once with it mounted that way.

Chad. I pictured you with something with ApeHangers on it. Nice bike.

hmmm, okay. Thanks for the stat # , It does say horizontal, but I see some guys who mod their bikes have them vertical, the bike is a cruiser, so maybe it'll be ok? I got pulled over on my kawinin a few times when I had it years ago, but never on the cruiser (knocks on wood).
Nice bike ya gots too!

Maybe i'll just stick with a horizontal side plate then

the people who have it vertical and don't get messed with are probablt the same folks with their driver and passenger windows tinted.... hmmm, maybe a cop in the family? ::)

Awesome bike, Chad. Now next time you come over, please bring it, and we'll see if I can manage to squeeze my butt on there with you. ;D (<-- joke)

Sorry to disappoint everyone but, as they say.. you cant judge a book by its cover, ;D There is more to the story by I'm not gonna steal the thread! Thanks for the compliments!
