Just Ridiculous - Shark Killings

Australia and France...two countries you'd think would be "advanced" enough to realize that if a shark wanted to kill you, there would be a death every day in those waters. For perth - 5 in one year results in this panic? ridiculous. The french panic because of 2 attacks.
Neither article provides any real factual content such as when the surfers/swimmer/diver were attacked (mid-day? evening? early morning). Are there an unusual number of seals/sea lions that live in the area? Addressing these, understanding where we fit in this food pyramid would help to drastically reduce the number of "chance" meetings with them. Like a shark really wants a bony human (possibly with a fiberglass board or metal scuba tank) vs. a nice piece of fat blubber from a seal.
Maybe these knuckleheads figure if they cull these sharks they will send them to atlantic city for that restaurant making soup
