Thinking about changing the lighting on the frag tank and I'm looking at either Kessil a150w 15k's or the Maxspect R420R M16000. The tank is a 30 breeder so penetration isn't an issue.

Any thoughts?

The Razor is a nice light I have two on my 90. Your welcome to come by and check them out. Not sure about the Kessil.

I have a Razor 160W 16K and I love it. The growth and coloration of the corals has been amazing, that's saying something considering I had a fixture with 2 X150W MHs and 4 39W T5s.

Thanks everyone. I just picked up a Maxspect 160w 16k and I gotta say she looks sweet.

I'm planning out a 40 breeder reef tank. Think one razer will he enough for that tank? They are only 24" long over a 36" tank.

Our frag tank is only a 30 breeder (36") and the 160w hung covers the whole thing. I originally tried using the legs but it left dark spots on the sides.

Now how is that mounted for those par readings?

Hcker99 about how far off the tank is it hung?

By looking at that pic I would assume it's using the legs since I had the same dark area's when mounting it that way.

By memory it's probably 12" off the surface. With the channels set at A - 50% and B - 60%.

where i found the pics says 6.5 off water. at 100% i beleave

Yea 6.5 is where I think the legs put you. For a 36" it needs to be higher if you want to spread the light across the whole tank.

Also I have ours at 12" and only 50/60% as part of the acclimation process. I think it's final spot is going to be 10". I do have to say even at 12" and those %'s this thing is bright.

depends on what your trying to keep. those numbers on the sides are fine for lps

True those numbers would probably be fine for lps but in my opinion it just didn't look good. Others may feel differently so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
