Killing part of a digi

How could I go about killing about a 1/2'' part of a digi colony without wiping the whole thing out? My problem is it's starting to cover my rasta colony. It already covered one and is working its way toward others. Just want to push it back a little.

I assume it's an encrusting area? The zoas should put up a good fight against a digi. The problem in killing it is that anything that will do the job might just get after the zoas too. That said if you can remove the rock put a little superglue on the monti. That will do the job. Until it grows over it. Now if it's a branch, I hope you can figure that one out. Lol

Yes it's encrusting, but I can't pull the rock. Its at the bottom of a stack that is held together via pvc pipe. I've used kalk paste for GSP in the past. Would that work for the digi as well?

The paste will kill it but will likely do the same to the Rastas. You could also try to scratch the monti out but that also might damage the Rastas. Chances are the two will find a happy place. Digis are pretty weak in the realm of corals.

That's what I figured. That it would just grow and the rasta would keep it back but it just covered it. I thought it would go the other way but I guess not. I guess I'll just give it a scratch and hope for the best.
