Hi all. I have a 15 gallon high nano reef, w some zoo's and mushrooms (for now), and the fish are a common clown and a goby (I may add 1 more small fish at some point but that's probably it).
Looking at upgrading my pump to the Koralia, but which size? At the LFS some say the nano, others say a Koralia 1. I don't want to recreate a tropical storm with the 1, but I'm reading in some posts that the nano is good only up to 12 gallons and since mine is a high tank, I'm leaning to the 1. Any thoughts?
Second, I am doing 1.5 gallon/wk water changes and all is well so far, but I am thinking of getting a hob skimmer and have been looking at the Octopus HB100F, as I can get my heater and some carbon in it. Will this be overkill? I guess the question is, can I overskim?
Originally I was going to get the Tunze 9002 nano but water changes seem to be doing OK and maybe I don't even need the skimmer, but the idea of getting things like the heater out of the tank, and losing my old HOB filter which is just a holding box for the carbon and some floss right now is appealing. Unfortunately, I don't have the option of a sump with this tank as its in my 5 yr old son's bedroom.
I'd be grateful for any suggestions.
