Level tank...........?

So I have always heard that if your tank is not completely level there will be issues. I just got my 210 how I like it and noticed the water is not level. It looks like it is about 1/2 inch off. Has anyone been running a tank not level for an extended period of time? Is there really any way to fix this without moving the tank to a new spot? Thank you to all.

I have seen tanks that are not level running with no problems. A half inch is pretty off level though. You can use shims to make the tank more level. Home depot has plastic ones that would work pretty well

What kind of floor is the tank on? If it’s a slab (concrete), then I would suggest you level and shim the stand/tank. If it is on a floor with joists (wood beams), check the level on the floor. The weight of the tank might have deflected the floor. In that case you could use an adjustable jack post (assuming you have a basement below), to level the floor.

If the joisted floor is level, I would still recommend leveling the tank/stand.

The primary concern is that the bottom of the tank is supported fully, meaning no high spots on the bottom edge causing the out of level condition. If you use shims just make sure that there is no high spots which get created by lifting one half of the stand.

+1 I would not do this bad idea.you will put pressure on anything that is not "ground level" my tank is a 90 gallon that leans half inch to the front up and running year and half not one problem.I would leave it alone.

+1 Check the floor level. The tank weight might have buckled it.

It is in my basement on a cement floor so my only guess is that the floor itself is not level. The bottom of the tank is flat all around so I guess that is a good sign. I was worried about the shims exactly as stated above because if you shim a stand it would move the weight to that one spot and not provide full support.

We shimmed our 45g in the last apartment and it was still a little off and it ran like that for a while. However, that was 45g vs 210g of weight on the glass. If you shim correctly the point is to have no high points so the pressure around the rim is equal and is resting on the bottom of the glass not on one of the side panels which could blow a seam or crack it down the line.
