Any opinions on who makes the best 14,000k 150W HQI bulbs? I am looking to buy one for a friend. He likes the blue end of the spectrum, but not as blue as the 20,000k. Also- any information on the best place to buy one...

I would take a look at the Phoenix based on what you said. They have a nice blue spectrum. I bought mine last year from Premium Aquatics. I have a 150 over my 40 breeder and 2 x 250 over my 90, although after running these bulbs for 2 years I'm thinking of trying the Reeflux based on what I have read online. I originally went with the Phoenix after a friend of mine bought so many others brands before settling on the Phoenix.

Thanks for the advice. I passed it on, but he already bought a Ushio 14,000k. Hopefully he will be happy with that. I think I will try the Reeflux next time. All the reviews I read are very positive.
