Ok all the wise handy people on this group I hope to get some ideas.

We have this tall gate to try and keep my mom's dog and my wife's cat's away from each other.

The cats fit between the bars so for a quick fix I put some of those plastic staff on there.

Well there one cat who like to climb the stuff and get over the gate.

I'm looking for better ideas that will help prevent the cats from climbing. I am thinking more clear than solid but open to suggestions.

The other option is to put something on that eggcrate that the cats don't like. The first thing that came to mind was red pepper flakes.....does that work with cats?

Plywood would be ok but then we lose the option to look down the hallway.

@art13 I can't put a door in but fear that the cats jump over the gate but I'm hoping they don't they have not jumped that high yet but there is the chance.

Looks kinda tall, i don't think the cat will jump that. I have the same gate for my dogs (the the one with the cat door) and he has never jumped over it

Well decided to try the plexiglass. Let me tell you it's a pain in the @$$ and costly lol. I messed up the first sheet but second sheet didn't come out bad. Right now only four zip ties holding it but I did drill 14 holes so if needed I can add more zip ties. Figure see how this goes before working on the two side panels.

Tinfoil on the floor by the gate of the cat or doubleface tape on the gate itself...they sell the tape at a petstore their large strips cats hate the way it feels hate the sound of the foil.

Ha my cats don't mind tinfoil (I used to put some on my chair to try and keep them off). The glass is working I just now need to do the two sides.
