It all depends what your looking to do.
I wouldnt frame out a stand and canopy in anything put pine, then I would get "nice wood" to skin them.Something in the birch, cherry and others along that line

When I use to make furniture, I use to get my stuff at Interstate Hardwood Lumber Co at 850 Flora St, Elizabeth, NJ 07201. There was also a place in Hightstown, but I can't remember the name. I've got to believe there are furniture grade lumber yards in the Trenton area.

I do like to skin in birch or maple they look stunning when stained and varnishe as I used to work a unfinished furniture store.

You can also go to a mill in Sayreville or parlin I'm not sure which town it is in it is close to border it is called Montieth They have any type of wood you can think of. Also Jeager lumber in belmar has a really nice stock of different woods.
There is also US Mahogany in Hazlet they also have a large selection. Good luck
