Lost my Fire Shrimp today...How long has yours lived?

Woke up today and was pretty bummed! Hade him for a year now. He was the largest shrimp in the store when I bought him. Could of been age, I hope. Gonna check my parameters today. Pretty upset....we had an awesome relationship. I had food and he knew it. That was pretty much our relationship. I liked him alot. My neighbors son is gonna be heart broken. He used sit in the chair and stare at the shrimp all day. He just molted a few days ago. He molted every month at around the exact time. Dont want to add another. I am afraid my current livestock wont take too well to him. Maybe I could throw a puffer in now. Once I gt the Blue Jaw delivered.

which puffy are you looking at getting because most at not reef safe

Awwh...u right! Merely a fleeting idea. Its gone now. I forgot about 'em. Still pretty freakin bummed. Just checked all of my parameters...perfect. Guess he was old. I was told after I bought him that if he was large he could also be relatively old. Would like to get a new one..not sure if it's a good idea.

Maybe add the new one after lights out. That'll give it a chance to find a safe spot

Good idea Len. Added a Derasa up in the rock today. Acclimated for about 2-3 hours and molded a spot in the rock with epoxy for him. Opened i a few minutes and seems to be doing great. Had to deal with the mourning of losing my shrimp....that and the WINTER CLASSIC!

Sorry to hear you lost your little red friend. Of all my tanks, during my recent move - I didn't lose one fish ... but my 4 year old Blood Red shrimp died in transit. My 'fish mover' said they can go into shock easily ...

I bought another one, glad I did ... he's great too, not only can I feed him by hand, like I did my original guy, he fit right in with the crowd ...

Again, sorry - inverts are pretty great ...
