Malwarebytes Saved Me

Somehow "Consumer Input" malware found its way onto my computer. It gets me that these spyware programs can self-load without your permission. Anyway, I looked up how to remove this, and it was a nightmare of manually deleting files and registery items. I wasn't ready to do this.

So I had used Malwarebytes a couple years ago, and decided to see if it could pull this beast off my computer. Downloaded the free version, and it immediately found 115 files and a bunch of registry items.....and now its gone!

KMA Consumer Input!

Malwarebytes is one of my favorites too. Not only is it free, but it works as good or better than all the other AV programs that you have to pay for. Great choice Paul!

One word of advice, when you install anything (on purpose) whether it be an update on your browser, a game, or even something like adobe Flash player that some websites "require" to view.... make sure you pay close attention during the installation process. Some of these programs will also simultaneously install browser tool bars, "helpers", or "accelerators", etc. while you are installing the program that you actually wanted. Most of the time, there will be a screen with the option to install these spyware products already checked and when you hit next (without unchecking those options) they will get installed. Make sure you look for these and don't just blindly click "Next" when you want to install something.

Also, most of the new laptops and computers will come pre-loaded with these things too. Whenever you buy a new computer, make sure the first thing you do is go into add/remove programs and uninstall all the junk software that you won't need.

Anyway, glad you got your problem all fixed Paul!
