Anyone have this sand? it's a killer price. $99 for 160lbs shipped but what is it like? it it too fine or just right? I currently have the Fine OoLite sand that gets blown around like crazy and burrowers or sand sifters forget it.. when i move the tank i want to switch out the sand bed any suggestions are appreciated. this is for the 220 BTW

It gets more stable after time. I have it and at first it gets stirred up easily. After a while that doesn't happen. I am not sure why. I have read that as it gets colonized with bacteria it is not as easily stirred up. I like it myself.

i just know with the goby we had you could see the clouds come out of his gills with each gulp of sand and it covered the rocks. i want to avoid this again

i bought it a few weeks ago for my upgrade tank and i like it, great price for what you get cant beat it. i have a 200 gallon tank and bought 200pounds of sand for 128 shipped and i have a 2" sandbed aaround my whole tank with some spots being 3".

The item is exactly as described and comes in a large plastic bag within another large plastic bag within an USPS overnight box. Rotifers are a seperate bottle and the lava rubble is about one/two handfuls of red pumice stone that was inside a small plastic bag within the sand.

The sand doesnt have water but was moist on arrival. It is very fine, pretty white and stopped flying around after an hour of introducing the powerhead. If you are considered about diggers I could try putting a nassarius for you in there and check if he gets in.

The service and communication was good from the shipper. Got the sand this Friday and couldnt help sharing the fresh experience ;D
