marineland hqi cube

I was puuting together a list for a 40 breeder setup until I stumbled across this thing. Does anyone here have experience with this tank? Or heard any pros or cons? Something is telling me to just stick with my 40b plan, but before I decide was just testing the waters on it.

If it's a choice between a 40B and Biocube 29 HQI I would go with the 40B.

Choice between 40B and 45 Marineland cube flip a coin, they would both be good tanks.

With the BC-29 HQI you will almost certainly need a chiller in the summer. Biocubes run hot and I struggled with heat issues in my Biocube 8 until I put a controller on it to help monitor and control the temperature.

With the larger tank you have more equipment options and more real estate in the 40B than the 29 has to offer.

Very good point. That's what I figured with the halide on such a small volume tank. I think the idea of a complete system was the most tempting part about it. But what's tempting usually ends in disaster as opposed to sticking to a plan. Just gonna take a Lil while longer :-/. But I'm sure you all know, getting back into the hobby you want everything "now" lol

We have a 29 bio cube and switched out the lighting and put a 60 watt Maxspect Led fixture with 2 stunner strips for dusk to dawn affect and left in the moonlights. And the tank is growing SPS LPS and softies along with 2 anemones with no heat issues at all. We also have a 24 gallon cardiff we are switching to an Led fixture today. If you think space will be in issue then go with a cube we have the 70 marineland. It' a great looking tank.
