Melting Chaeto

My chaeto is melting away, but the graciallis in the other sump is doing fine- nitrates are around 55 and phosphates are just above .2, wondering if it could be the light- using a submersible white led light- has been fine for over a year

Are they on the same system? If so the Graciallis could be out competing the Chaeto. If they aren't on the same system it could be low iron. They sell something called Chaeto grow which is an iron supplement or you can pick up SeaChem Flourish.

My Cheato all melted away when I added the Tunze led submersible light. Maybe a coincidence and it was something else. But, happened at the same time.

If it's the one I'm thinking of I thought that it's purpose was a chaeto light?

I'm thinking that it's just a coincedence as far as the light goes. I've had Chaeto melt before- got some new stuff from @Salted and it did fine with the light I had- he lost his and got some from me and did fine- no change in lighting- we've been back and forth with the same original batch for over a year now. I use 10w white cheapos from Amazon and they have been fine so far. I took some of the chaeto and the graciallis and switched sides to see if the light has anything to do with the meltdown- my last trade with @Salted is doing fine in his sump- so if I need to start over again- it's great to have friends here:)
