Microsoft Windows 7

I think Vista was their oops operating system. In 2007 Citigroup said that they would put Vista on all of their 35,000 computers..Its 2 years later and less than 10% of them have been converted. The problem is software compatability. Citigroup is a huge company and has over 10,000 applications! I'm hoping that my company skips Vista and goes straight to 7..if the OS is better of course.

Problem isn't only software compatability but also hardware. Most companies would have to replace any pcs that were older then 2 - 3 years which runs into a lot of money. This os just sucks.

I was thinking of upgrading from my Current E-Machines to a new one with Vista.. now i will wait.. I love playing games, Battlefield. C&C. wish I had fios my way..

Maybe Dell, HP and Microsoft are all colluding with each other! I put out a new OS and oh by the way you need to run out and buy a new pc!..lol

Oh great...I just bought a new laptop with Vista!!

Damn Microsoft!!!

Me too...looks like I should have bought the "down grade to XP". Oh well at least my new laptop will be obsolete in a year or two and I can get another one.

Why do you think they still sell XP. In the past MicroSoft would drop the old os to force you to buy the new one. They knew there were issue with Vista before it was released. You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig! Makes you hungry for a APPLE doesn't it. ;)

Yeah, I had no choice but to get Vista....I could have bought XP and partitioned the HD and ran that...but I decided to mess with Vista.

I have to be honest, I don't mind it at all...things are in different places...it does some strange things sometimes...but all in all I don't think it's as bad as everyone says it is.

MS is trying to get back into it's three year cycle of OS releases. The time between XP and Vista is the longest MS has gone between releases. With Vista's release many people were vary entrenched in XP. Add into it the annoying UAC that is the complaint of many the Vista hater.

But many don't remember that XP wasn't welcomed with open arms over Windows 2000 and even now many Windows 2000 machines are out there running daily.

I might be wrong but it's my understanding that until SP2 comes out that many companies will wait and use the new OS in a testing roll.

At work we were supposed to transition to Vista last month, but there is a configuration problem that our folks can't figure out with drive mapping. I think it's operator error, but that's just me. They can't even map my printer or install my scanner correctly.

Xp is fine - except for that paperclip. That invention is right there with JarJar Binks for most annoying.
